Sufferin' fools

Original Rock and roll / Americana

The fine fellows in Sufferin' Fools congregate around the mountain made tunes of Cameron Thomas. Born and bred in the Carolinas, Thomas' songs share the humble joys, struggles and mysteries of a southern life - where it might lead you, who you meet, and what you bring back home. Based in the music rich town of Asheville, NC, the band rides the dusty crossroads of Memphis country soul and Midwest power pop - kicking the dual guitars into overdrive for fun.

Thomas, who played and toured the Southeast extensively with The Delta Drift and The Corduroy Road, sings with a red gravel voice, plays heartfelt rhythm guitar, and leads to front the crew. Andrew Wagley, formerly of Po Boyz, rides shotgun on six-string, melting hearts and minds with his intricate electric textures and inspired invocations. Christopher Bartel, a former sound engineer hailing from Boston, thumps the bass with a keen ear and ability to suit the song and lock into a groove. While Pete Schreiner, of songs:ohia/Magnolia Electric Co. tenure, melds rhythm to melody, rockin' steady at the drum kit.

All in, the sound is as exciting as it is lovingly familiar - fleet fingers and vintage tubes burn up the tone, kick-kick-snare locks to woody warm bass, and honest words hang in the air. If the boys are in town y'all come down - and carry a rose for a listen.
